This is the break down steps of how i sit up on my own:

1. Push my upper body up

2. Tuck in one of my leg

3. Twisting my body

4. Sitting side ways

(p.s. Out of no where, Baby Hope just starts doing this on her own!!
Tony & I were very shocked to see how baby develops on her own timing! God's design is just way too amazing!!)

5. With a little help, i can sit up like this!! :)

Doctor said I am ready for solid food!!
So, mommy took me to the grocery store to shop for MY FOOD!!
Wow!! So many choices, it's good that mommy does her homework before go out to shop!!
She knows what's the best out there for me :)

I get to hold on to the rice cereal because mommy said i need to get familiar with it...

The big night finally came!!
Dad is the one who is going to feed me,
and mom is getting the camera ready!!

First taste: "Oh no!! what's that? Why does it taste different?"

Then, after the second bite, I started to LOV'IN it!!

Daddy, hurry up, give me more!!

I devoured the whole thing in no time!!
When daddy was too slow, i would pound on the table and try to grab the bowl and spoon, too!!
hahaha, mommy said i was born hungry....

Auntie NN visited me~ It was fun to have her around...
We went out every single day!!
She bought me a lot of cute hair pins!!

oh yah, btw, I shared my room with her despite of her snoring...

The night before she left,
she woke up to feed me so mommy can sleep 10 hours straight!

My grandparents came to Dallas to spend Christmas with me!
I was so happy!!

They played with me, prayed for me,
and even fed me so much that I ended up throwing up! ~haha~
I will sure miss them!!

Turn Over!

I gave mommy and daddy a Great Christmas gift!!
I learned how to turn over just 2 days before Christmas!!
This is my new milestone: turning over at 4.5 months!!

Mommy:
I was soOooOo excited when I saw Hope turning over that night!
I was on computer trying to finish some tasks...
When I used my peripheral to check on Hope, I saw her trying to turn..
She was getting frustrated because she has been able to turn on her side,
but cannot do a complete turn yet...

So, she was making all those animal/groaning/struggling voices as usual,
and I didn't think much of it...
Then, all of a sudden, she was faced down!!
I was like, "did she just turn?"
Unsure of what I just saw, I flipped her over and observed her closely...
Then, da-ta!! She turned again!!
OH MY MY!!!

Hope was so cute!
She was so proud of her accomplishment that she started to smile
and looking for my reaction for approval!!
So, of course, I screamed and clapped my hands and smiled at her!
Then, she started to laugh (with sound) & pounding the floor!!

What a precious little baby!! :)

My New Life at Dallas~

My daddy took the position as a youth pastor at Binnerri Presbyterian Church at Dallas, Tx.
The youth group is huge! They have over 200 kids!!
I love my life here because a lot of the youth opah and ong-ni adore me!
See, they have to line up to take turns to hold me!!
Yes, I am getting very spoiled by all of the attention I am receiving here...
and i like it... :)

New Toy

and she is loving it...

Tony's mom told us Tony sucked on his toes all the time when he was a baby, too!
I guess it's just one more thing to prove they 2 are really alike! harrr~

Piano Prodigy

Yes, we are finally settling down at Dallas!! (:
Life is getting into a routine now, which is a good thing!!
So, in the morning, when I play piano for my QT,
I would put Baby Hope besides me to watch me.
I guess she learns how to play piano by that...

When it's her turn to play, she is so into it!!
She would use BOTH of her hands and would move her body
to reach the high notes then to the low notes!!
It's so hilarious!

It happened two consecutive nights already...
Baby Hope will start crying out of no where...
and i will try to do everything that normally would calm her down
(holding her, walking around, singing to her, changing her diaper...)
but NOTHING worked until i put her in front of the piano.....
She turns her mourning into dancing!
Her fingers would fly on the black and white keys
and would sometimes lift her head to pretend to read the notes!

Do we really have a piano prodigy baby? (:

My walker~

Baby Hope is learning to use the walker...
it's so funny that she can only go backwards...
her duration on the walker is about 15 minutes...
then she will get bored and started whining to be picked up... @_@

oh yah, did we tell you that Hope LOVES to watch TV?
No matter what position we put her in,
she will try so hard to turn her head toward TV!!

Since we don't want her to watch TV yet,
we would put her on her walker behind the sofa when we watch TV...
but... as smart as she is (or so determined to watch TV),
she will push her walker to get a peak at the TV through the little gap... @_@

Someone gave us this saucer...
we didn't think Hope is ready to play it yet...
she is, after all, only 3 months...
her toes can barely touch the base of the saucer!!

but we still tried to put in there...
like we expected, she was so scared that she began to cry...

then, we tried again the next day...
how fast can baby grow in a day? i don't know..
but she was loving it!! she loves it so much that she would drool all over the toys...
and she learned to reach out her hand to play with the toys!!

it's so cute to see her learning to use her little hands!!
oh!! my baby girl is growing so fast!!

2 Months - Doctor's Appointment

My 2 Months Status
Height: 23" (75%)
Weight: 12.6 lbs (90%)
(oh oh.. Is my body figure going to be like my daddy's?)

After the doctor told me I am a strong baby,
I was laid on the table playing with daddy and mommy...
I had no idea what's to come...

The nurse came and gave me something to eat...
But I didn't like how it tasted, so I ended up spiting it all out...

THE NEEDLES!!

I was so brave...
I only cried for 5 seconds...
(I cried more when Daddy sucks my stuffy nose...)

After the shot, I was feeling a little blue...

It was a little painful that night... I didn't feel well.. :(
Mommy & Daddy prayed for me and asked Jesus to restore my health...

So, Hey! In the morning, I was up and smiling again!

She'll be so famous that they will display her on Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art.

Watch out Palin and Hillary, after that Hope will become the next president of the U.S.

Then finally when she's 35-40 years old she'll get married.

And have a daughter that looks exactly like her...but will have to flee the country by then because of WWIII.

African American Sunday Service

Getting ready for church...
Wow what a pretty & cute little baby!

For our first family Sunday service
we took Hope to an African American Church
in order to give her some soul.

But unfortunately much like dad,
she fell asleep throughout the whole service.

I don't think it was because she was bored,
but felt at home where the music soothed her to sleep.

After the service Hope was hungry
so we went out to our first family meal at Logans Steakhouse.
Unfortunately Hope was only able to drink milk.

D-DAY (Delivery Day)

It was early Monday morning on August 11, 2008 around 4:00am when Ruth experienced a bloody discharge. Throughout the night into the early morning Ruth was having contractions between 2 to 8 minutes. It wasn't until 8:00am where Ruth continued to bleed that we called Dr. Randy Fox. He told us to go straight to the hospital and we arrived at the hospital about 9:00 a.m.

Once we got to the hospital we were taken to the triage where Ruth and Hope were monitored for about four hours. Once it was determined that Ruth's cervix was opened 1cm, we were moved into our delivery room.

To our surprise we were given one of the biggest rooms in the hospital, which was called by the nurses as the "Princess Room". It felt like we were in a 5 star hotel at the Hilton.

After sometime Ruth's cervix barely opened up and therefore needed to begin her induction immediately. We couldn't wait any longer because Ruth was already 8 days overdue. Ruth also didn't want to use any pain killers and continually denied the nurses despite their persistence. They could not understand why Ruth would endure such pain but it was for Hope that Ruth did not want to use pain medication. Also for us it was an experience in the punishment of Adam and Eve's disobedience and the beauty of God's redemption through birth.

Then after 16 hours of labor the pain was too great to bear that Ruth needed to receive an epidural. In tears she tried her best as she was assured that it was very common to receive pain medication especially for a labor as long as hers. Ruth endured a lot of pain as it took about an hour to set up and insert the epidural.

One of the scariest moments throughout the delivery was when Ruth began to shake uncontrollably. They said that it was common and that it is one of the stages of labor. As Ruth's cervix began to open up throughout the night she reached 10cm at 1:15 pm and was in active labor.

Ruth's sister Esther, stayed the whole night caring for and encouraging Ruth throughout the whole labor. We don't know what we would have done without her. Together with the nurse Ruth started to push three times on every contraction for 10 seconds. To our surprise it wasn't until the crowning of the baby's head that the doctor would come to deliver the baby. Esther was the first to break down in tears seeing the crowning of Hope's head.

Unfortunately they would not let us take photos or videos of the actual delivery of the baby because of legal issues. I don't think anybody would want to see photos of it anyways.

With a final push at 2:01 pm 08/12/08
Hope Blessing Chon was delivered into the world.
Weight: 7 lbs 13.8 oz Height: 20 in.

Dad was able to partake in the traditional cutting of the umbilical cord,
and happy that it wasn't circumcision.

Though Hope was born, Ruth was not able to immediately hold her baby.

The doctors spent the next two hours stitching Ruth up.

Total Time for Laboring: 36 hours!
Despite all the complications, trials, and hardships she did it.
Ruth is recovering well and couldn't be happier.

What's in a Name?

After much deliberation we named our baby "Hope Blessing Chon". Originally I wanted to name our daughter Trinity and my wife wanted Blessing. Our second choice was Hope which we both agreed we really liked. Therefore the middle name was once again an issue, but after considering that her first name would be Hope, we thought that the name Hope Bless (hopeless) would be good. Having the meaning that she would be a hope and a blessing to those who are hopeless.

We understood the issues of man's total depravity and the cruelty of adolescents that would tease her as hope(b)less, so we came to the consensus of naming her "Hope Blessing". Though I didn't get to name my daughter Trinity for her first or middle name, at least she has my last name.
